One of the benefits to installing and using solar power systems is that many of the area electic providers provide  incentives to their customers to install the solar power system. Information for several area electric providers is below:

ONCOR

Denton Electric Inc. is a registered service provider in Oncor's "Take a Load Off, Texas" program, which offers an incentive of $2.46 per DC watt for Oncor customers who have solar power systems installed on their homes or businesses.

Denton Municipal Electric

Denton Electric Inc. is a registered service provider in Denton Municipal Electric's (DME) "GreenSense Energy Efficiency Rebate Program".  This program offers an incentive of $3.00 per AC watt to DME customers who have solar power systems installed on their homes or businesses.

Texas-New Mexico Power Company

We are a registered service provider in Texas-New Mexico Power Company's "Solar PV Pilot Program" which offers an incentive of $2.50 per DC watt for TNMP customers who have solar power installed on their homes or businesses.

Database of State Incentives for Renewable Energy (DSIRE)

There is a 30% federal tax credit allowed to individuals or businesses for the installed cost of a solar power system or a wind power system. Businesses may take advantage of a grant instead of the tax credit.  This grant is for the same amount as the tax credit.

Property Tax Exemption

The Texas property tax code allows an exemption of the amount of the appraised property value that arises from the installation of a solar or wind power system that is primarily for the production and distribution of electrical energy for on-site use, or to feed devices used to store that energy.
